Our Story

We Didn't Set Out to Redesign Our Lives

Life Did That for Us

Our story didn’t begin with a plan to redesign our lives. Life did that for us.

Through changing seasons, unexpected turns, new beginnings and moments that tested us deeply, we kept discovering the same truth: home is not just where you live. It is where you recover, regroup, reconnect and begin again.

Over the years, our work, our faith, our family and our experiences have all shaped the way we see life now. We have learned that beauty matters, but so do health, purpose, resilience, relationships and the courage to keep moving forward.

It Started With Two People & A Partnership

We partnered for life in 1978, never imagining where the years would take us. Together we have built businesses, created homes, raised a family, changed direction more than once and learned how to begin again when life didn’t follow the plan.

Jean is the practical one, technically minded, happiest when he is making, fixing or finding a better way to do something. Brig is the ideas person –  drawn to people, beautiful spaces, possibilities and the stories behind them.

Life Has Taken Us Through Many Seasons

Like most lives, ours has had its summers and winters, its springs and autumns. There have been seasons of abundance and joy, and others of uncertainty, loss and simply putting one foot in front of the other.

We have had to adapt, let go, start over and learn things we never imagined we would need to learn. Some chapters we would never have chosen. Yet each one has taught us something about resilience, gratitude and what really matters.

And perhaps that is why we believe so strongly that life’s next chapter can still be a good one –  whatever your age and whatever has gone before.

We have Nothing.... But We Have Everything

Somewhere along the way, my mantra became “We have nothing… but we have everything “

It was never really about money or possessions. It was more about perspective.

We have our faith. We have each other. We have family and people we love. We have work that still gives us purpose. We have ideas, curiosity and the ability to keep learning. We can still laugh, dream, fight, create and yet wake up believing there is something worthwhile ahead.

We have learned that abundance doesn’t always look the way the world tells us it should.

Sometimes abundance is gratitude. Sometimes it is good health, a meaningful conversation, work you love, a meal shared, a beautiful sunrise, or simply knowing that today still has purpose.

And most of all, we have love – and love to give.

Identity & Calling

Finding Purpose in the Next Chapter

We used to think purpose had to look like a job, a title or a carefully mapped out plan. Life has taught us otherwise.

Sometimes purpose appears in the things that keep drawing you back, the work you love, the people you naturally want to help, the ideas that refuse to leave you alone.

This morning in church, one line stayed with me: “When you love what you’re doing and other people love you doing it, you’re walking in your identity and in your calling.”

That feels especially true in this season of our lives. We are still creating, still learning, still serving, still beginning again. And Redesign Your Life at Home has become a place where all of those threads can come together : home, health, faith, resilience, community and the belief that there is always something meaningful still ahead.

We may not have followed the path we once imagined. But perhaps we are finally walking more fully in who we were meant to be.

This Is Why We Built Redesign Your Life At Home

This website grew out of everything life has taught us – that redesigning a life rarely happens all at once. Sometimes it begins with a room that finally feels like home. Sometimes it begins with taking better care of your health, finding courage in an uncertain season, discovering a new purpose or simply deciding that your story isn’t finished yet.

Here we share what we know, what we’re still learning and some of the real stories we’ve lived along the way. Not because we have all the answers, but because we believe our experiences may encourage someone else to look at what they already have – within themselves, their relationships and their surroundings,  and see new possibilities.

Every room has a story. Every life can be redesigned.

Welcome to ours.
